I have always strongly believed that one of the most underused muscles a
bodybuilder has is his or her brain. I have always felt that if you believe it,
you can achieve it. If you think you can get 19 inch arms, you can no matter
what. Now a study has proved me right.
A team from Hull University tested 30 people performing bicep curls and measured
how much their biceps were working. They then focused all their thinking to
lifting more and the tests showed the biceps muscle worked harder because of
this.
Bodybuilders have long know that when you focus on a body part you get a 'mind -
muscle' connection. What muscle you like to train is often the one that grows
the best, showing that mind-muscle linkages are best when we are focusing
positively. Visualization is another powerful mind tool to enhance your results.
If you believe you can get massive, you can. If you treat your least favourite
body part in a positive way, you can blast through those barriers to
making them your best body part!
